On 29 and 30 October, Barcelona will become the European hub for innovation in sustainable housing.
Specifically, it will host “Building Change: Boosting Innovation for Affordable and Sustainable Housing in Europe”, organised by the European Investment Bank Group (EIBG) with the Barcelona City Council.
The event will gather institutions, companies and experts from across Europe.
Together, they will discuss how to accelerate solutions for more affordable, efficient and environmentally responsible urban development.
Among the featured speakers is Pol Merino, CEO and Co-founder of HONEXT.
He will participate on 30 October (16:15–17:15) in the panel “How can we scale up innovative solutions?”.
During this session, speakers will explore strategies to scale sustainable innovation in construction.
In particular, the discussion will focus on collaboration between industry, investment and research.
Honext is a Barcelona-based company transforming cellulose waste into non-toxic, circular construction materials.
At the conference, it will share its experience as a European circular economy success story in the building sector.
Moreover, its participation reinforces Barcelona’s position as a benchmark for sustainable innovation.
It also reflects Honext’s commitment to developing materials that support more responsible construction practices.
Finally, the event will include plenary sessions, thematic panels, an optional site visit and a networking cocktail.
