Project: Greenvia – Circular acoustic wall cladding in a next-generation office building

IMPACT: More than 680 m² of boards installed — equivalent to 4,896 kg of industrial waste recovered.
Cradle to Cradle Certified® material integrated into a LEED Gold & WELL Gold building.

HONEXT boards were installed as decorative, acoustic and comfort wall cladding in Greenvia, an innovative office building in Barcelona designed by Batlleiroig Arquitectura.

Greenvia is conceived as a high-performance corporate building focused on wellbeing, sustainability and environmental responsibility. Designed to achieve LEED Gold and WELL Gold standards, the project integrates materials that actively contribute to healthy indoor environments and long-term circular value.

In this context, HONEXT was selected as a large-scale wall cladding solution across the main open-plan areas and double-height spaces. Approximately 350–400 m² of boards were installed, creating continuous vertical surfaces that combine acoustic absorption, material warmth and architectural coherence.

The material softens the spatial experience of large volumes dominated by glass, concrete and reflective finishes, improving reverberation control while reinforcing the building’s sustainable identity.

Case study: circular acoustic wall cladding with certified circular materials for healthy offices

Designed by Batlleiroig Arquitectura, Greenvia

represents a new generation of office architecture. Here, performance, health and circularity are integrated from the outset.

Therefore, the project demonstrates how responsible material choices can shape healthier and more efficient workplaces.

HONEXT contributes directly to this strategy through its Cradle to Cradle Certified® status and Material Health certification.

Additionally, the boards are chemically assessed and optimised for safe indoor use. They are free from added formaldehyde and harmful resins.

As a result, the material supports circular acoustic wall cladding solutions that combine safety, durability and environmental performance.

Beyond acoustic performance, the solution reinforces the building’s commitment to transparency, recyclability and long-term material value.

Consequently, the project shows how circular materials can operate at architectural scale while maintaining high design quality.

Ultimately, the workspace enhances acoustic comfort, supports wellbeing and demonstrates the practical value of circular interior solutions.

Healthy material choices for circular acoustic wall cladding in contemporary workplaces

In contemporary office environments, people spend more than 90% of their time indoors. Therefore, material selection becomes critical for long-term health, comfort and productivity.

Interior finishes are no longer neutral design decisions. Instead, they directly influence air quality, acoustic balance and overall wellbeing.

Consequently, selecting safe materials becomes essential when designing workplaces that support daily performance and employee wellbeing.

By integrating Cradle to Cradle Certified® and Material Health–assessed materials such as HONEXT, Greenvia reinforces a workplace model focused on safe, non-toxic interiors.

Additionally, these materials contribute to improved environmental performance and support the implementation of circular acoustic wall cladding solutions.

As a result, the project delivers not only an efficient and sustainable building, but also a healthier indoor ecosystem.

Ultimately, the workplace is designed to support concentration, comfort and long-term human wellbeing.
