Vareta proves that beautiful design and sustainability can go hand in hand. It also shows how collaboration between designers, manufacturers, and material innovators can create products with real environmental value.
A design inspired by nature
Vareta was created by GREENAREA, a company with more than 14 years of experience in preserved vegetation and biophilic design. The project was designed by Rafa Ortega, whose vision combines craftsmanship, functionality, and contemporary aesthetics.
Rather than being a simple wall cladding, Vareta transforms interior spaces into warm, natural, and sensory environments. At the same time, it offers architects and interior designers a sustainable solution without compromising on design.
HONEXT®: the circular material behind Vareta
At the heart of Vareta are HONEXT® boards, made from industrial cellulose fibre waste. The panels are 100% recyclable, free from toxic resins, and designed according to circular economy principles.
In addition, HONEXT® has achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold and Material Health Certificate™ Gold Level certifications. These recognitions confirm both its environmental performance and its safety for indoor environments.
Because HONEXT® contains no harmful substances and emits no hazardous VOCs, it contributes to healthier interiors. This is especially important considering that people spend around 90% of their time indoors.
